# ATo vs A6s: preflop equity

ATo is a big favorite over A6s before the flop: 67.29% to 32.71% equity, counted exactly over every board, with the split by flop type and suit.

## ATo against A6s: the numbers

**Exact preflop results for ATo against A6s, in percent**

| Hand | Wins | Ties | Loses | Equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ATo | 62.381 | 9.815 | 27.804 | 67.288 |
| A6s | 27.804 | 9.815 | 62.381 | 32.712 |

ATo is an offsuit hand and A6s is a suited hand. The two hands share a rank, and the one with the better other card dominates: it wins most kicker battles when that shared rank hits.

That is a clear edge, 67.29% to 32.71%, but A6s still wins often enough that one hand proves nothing. Ties are 9.82% of the outcomes here; each tied board gives both hands half the pot.

In the ranking of all 169 starting hands, ATo is number 19 and A6s is number 31.

**Boards behind the percentages: 61,642,944 counted in all**

| Hand | Boards won, about | Boards tied, about | Boards lost, about |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |

| A6s | 17,139,000 | 6,050,000 | 38,453,000 |

36 specific deals times 1,712,304 boards gives the exact total. The won, tied and lost counts are approximations from the five-decimal percentages, rounded to the nearest thousand.

**ATo against A6s read as odds**

## Who is ahead on which flops

The flop changes the picture. ATo does best on rainbow flops topped by a ten or better, at 74.39%, and worst on low rainbow flops (nine high or lower), at 56.85%. ATo stays ahead on all five textures, but the swing between them is large, so how the flop looks matters a great deal.

**ATo against A6s by flop texture, in percent**

| Flop | Share of flops | ATo wins | Ties | A6s wins | ATo equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Rainbow, ten or higher | 23.905 | 70.203 | 8.381 | 21.416 | 74.393 |
| Rainbow, nine or lower | 7.042 | 55.521 | 2.660 | 41.819 | 56.851 |
| Two-tone | 46.527 | 63.361 | 6.695 | 29.944 | 66.709 |
| Monotone | 5.192 | 59.315 | 7.242 | 33.443 | 62.936 |
| Paired | 17.334 | 52.666 | 23.844 | 23.490 | 64.588 |

A rainbow flop shows three suits, a two-tone flop repeats one suit, a monotone flop is a single suit, and a paired flop repeats a rank.

## How this was computed

We counted every case. Each suit pattern of the 36 specific ATo against A6s deals meets all 1,712,304 boards, and the better five-card hand wins; a split pot is half a win each. The flop table reads each board under all ten of its three-card flops.
