## JTs against 75s: the numbers

**Exact preflop results for JTs against 75s, in percent**

| Hand | Wins | Ties | Loses | Equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| JTs | 63.746 | 1.159 | 35.095 | 64.326 |
| 75s | 35.095 | 1.159 | 63.746 | 35.674 |

Each side holds one of the suited hands: JTs and 75s. With no overlap in ranks, every card that pairs one hand is a card that does not pair the other.

That is a modest edge, the kind that shows up over many hands and is easy to miss in one. Of every 100 boards, about 1.16 are split pots, and the equity figures already include them.

The hand ranking puts JTs at 45 and 75s at 124 out of 169 starting hands.

**Boards behind the percentages: 27,396,864 counted in all**

| Hand | Boards won, about | Boards tied, about | Boards lost, about |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| JTs | 17,464,000 | 318,000 | 9,615,000 |
| 75s | 9,615,000 | 318,000 | 17,464,000 |

The board total is exact, 16 deals at 1,712,304 boards each. Won, tied and lost counts are rounded to the nearest thousand from the five-decimal percentages.

**JTs against 75s read as odds**

| Hand | Equity as odds (to 1) | Wins one deal in | Loses one deal in | Pot odds needed to call (to 1) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| JTs | 1.803 | 1.569 | 2.849 | 0.555 |
| 75s | 0.555 | 2.849 | 1.569 | 1.803 |

In the last column, a pot-to-call ratio at or above the figure makes a call break even or better at this equity.

## Who is ahead on which flops

## How this was computed

Each figure is a complete count over boards. Take the 16 specific deals, group them by suit pattern, deal all 1,712,304 boards against each, and compare the two seven-card hands. Equity counts a tie as half a win; the flop rows use every one of a board's ten flops.
