# TT vs 54s: preflop equity

TT is a big favorite over 54s before the flop: 77.86% to 22.14% equity, counted exactly over every board, with the split by flop type and suit.

Dealt all in against each other, TT takes 77.86% of the pot on average and 54s takes the other 22.14%.

## TT against 54s: the numbers

TT, a pocket pair, plays 54s, a suited hand. The pair outranks both of the other hand's cards, which is why the pair is a strong favorite.

That is a clear edge, 77.86% to 22.14%, but 54s still wins often enough that one hand proves nothing. The tie share is 0.53%: on those boards the pot is chopped and neither hand wins outright.

In the ranking of all 169 starting hands, TT is number 5 and 54s is number 136.

| 54s | 8,990,000 | 218,000 | 31,887,000 |

The total is exact: 24 specific deals times 1,712,304 boards. The three counts are approximate, worked out from the percentages to five decimals and rounded to the nearest thousand.

## How this was computed

This is an exact count with no sampling. For the 24 ways to deal one TT and one 54s without reusing a card, grouped by suit pattern, every one of the 1,712,304 possible boards is dealt and both seven-card hands are compared. A tie counts as half a win in the equity column, and each board is counted once under each of its ten three-card flops.
