# TT vs 65s: preflop equity

TT is a big favorite over 65s before the flop: 78.20% to 21.80% equity, counted exactly over every board, with the split by flop type and suit.

The exact count puts TT at 78.20% and 65s at 21.80% when the two hands see all five board cards.

## TT against 65s: the numbers

**Exact preflop results for TT against 65s, in percent**

| Hand | Wins | Ties | Loses | Equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 77.954 | 0.492 | 21.554 | 78.200 |
| 65s | 21.554 | 0.492 | 77.954 | 21.800 |

Here a pocket pair (TT) meets a suited hand (65s). The pair outranks both of the other hand's cards, which is why the pair is a strong favorite.

TT is well ahead, and 65s needs a specific kind of board to catch up. 0.49% of boards are ties, so the equity of each hand is its win rate plus half of that.

Ranked by equity against a random hand, TT is number 5 of the 169 starting hands and 65s is number 128.

**Boards behind the percentages: 41,095,296 counted in all**

| Hand | Boards won, about | Boards tied, about | Boards lost, about |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 32,035,000 | 202,000 | 8,858,000 |
| 65s | 8,858,000 | 202,000 | 32,035,000 |

The board total is exact, 24 deals at 1,712,304 boards each. Won, tied and lost counts are rounded to the nearest thousand from the five-decimal percentages.

**TT against 65s read as odds**

| Hand | Equity as odds (to 1) | Wins one deal in | Loses one deal in | Pot odds needed to call (to 1) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

| 65s | 0.279 | 4.640 | 1.283 | 3.587 |

In the last column, a pot-to-call ratio at or above the figure makes a call break even or better at this equity.

## How this was computed

This is an exact count with no sampling. For the 24 ways to deal one TT and one 65s without reusing a card, grouped by suit pattern, every one of the 1,712,304 possible boards is dealt and both seven-card hands are compared. A tie counts as half a win in the equity column, and each board is counted once under each of its ten three-card flops.
