# TT vs A4s: preflop equity

TT is a big favorite over A4s before the flop: 66.96% to 33.04% equity, counted exactly over every board, with the split by flop type and suit.

If TT and A4s get all the chips in before the flop, TT owns 66.96% of the pot in the long run and A4s owns 33.04%.

## TT against A4s: the numbers

**Exact preflop results for TT against A4s, in percent**

| Hand | Wins | Ties | Loses | Equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 66.755 | 0.409 | 32.836 | 66.960 |
| A4s | 32.836 | 0.409 | 66.755 | 33.040 |

TT is a pocket pair and A4s is a suited hand. The pair is ahead of one card and behind the other, so the board decides how that plays out.

A lead of 33.92 points is large but not decisive: A4s still takes about 328 of every 1,000 deals. 0.41% of boards are ties, so the equity of each hand is its win rate plus half of that.

By strength against a random hand, TT holds place 5 of 169 and A4s holds place 35.

**Boards behind the percentages: 41,095,296 counted in all**

| Hand | Boards won, about | Boards tied, about | Boards lost, about |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 27,433,000 | 168,000 | 13,494,000 |
| A4s | 13,494,000 | 168,000 | 27,433,000 |

The total is exact: 24 specific deals times 1,712,304 boards. The three counts are approximate, worked out from the percentages to five decimals and rounded to the nearest thousand.

**TT against A4s read as odds**

| Hand | Equity as odds (to 1) | Wins one deal in | Loses one deal in | Pot odds needed to call (to 1) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 2.027 | 1.498 | 3.045 | 0.493 |
| A4s | 0.493 | 3.045 | 1.498 | 2.027 |

In the last column, a pot-to-call ratio at or above the figure makes a call break even or better at this equity.

## How this was computed

The page is built from a full enumeration: 1,712,304 boards, every suit pattern of the 24 specific deals, both seven-card hands evaluated. A tie is worth half a win to each hand, and a board is tallied under each of its ten possible flops for the texture rows.
