# TT vs K9s: preflop equity

TT is a big favorite over K9s before the flop: 68.43% to 31.57% equity, counted exactly over every board, with the split by flop type and suit.

Dealt all in against each other, TT takes 68.43% of the pot on average and K9s takes the other 31.57%.

## TT against K9s: the numbers

**Exact preflop results for TT against K9s, in percent**

| Hand | Wins | Ties | Loses | Equity |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 68.233 | 0.399 | 31.368 | 68.432 |
| K9s | 31.368 | 0.399 | 68.233 | 31.568 |

The first hand is a pocket pair; the second is a suited hand. The pair sits between the other hand's two cards: one is higher and one is lower, so the pair is exposed to the higher card.

That is a clear edge, 68.43% to 31.57%, but K9s still wins often enough that one hand proves nothing. Ties are 0.40% of the outcomes here; each tied board gives both hands half the pot.

For context, TT sits at number 5 of 169 starting hands and K9s at number 29 when each is run against a random hand.

**Boards behind the percentages: 41,095,296 counted in all**

| Hand | Boards won, about | Boards tied, about | Boards lost, about |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TT | 28,041,000 | 164,000 | 12,891,000 |
| K9s | 12,891,000 | 164,000 | 28,041,000 |

Exact total: 24 deals times 1,712,304 boards. The other three counts come from the five-decimal percentages and are rounded to the nearest thousand, so read them as approximate.

**TT against K9s read as odds**

| Hand | Equity as odds (to 1) | Wins one deal in | Loses one deal in | Pot odds needed to call (to 1) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

| K9s | 0.461 | 3.188 | 1.466 | 2.168 |

The final column gives the least the pot must offer for each unit called for a call to break even at this equity.

## How this was computed

The figures are counted, not estimated: 1,712,304 boards for every suit pattern of the 24 specific deals, with both seven-card hands compared each time. Equity gives half a win for a tie. For the flop rows, a board is counted once under each of the ten flops inside it.
